Most probably a souvenir or "garden sculpture", common to find in
Chile. They are made of wood or volcanic stone. A couple of moais on sale:

The real questions is: Who and why did somebody bury one in Texas?
Real moais are several meters tall. "Garden sculptures" are up to
about 1 m. Tourist souvenirs usually are 10 - 40 cm tall.
