Re: [Ancientartifacts] Re: Adopting newbies. So many need adoption.

I guess I've been lucky so far.  I haven't been "tagged" as an issue with eBay yet.  But, then again....I've never tried to sell anything on eBay.  That changed yesterday (selling some uncleaned roman coins), so lets see if that causes my account to be flagged in some way.  Even if a problem arose, honesty will win out in the end.  It might cause me a lot of inconvenience, but if it saves someone else being totally ripped off.....so be it.  The appreciation I've received from others by providing web links to sites that question certain items is awesome. When we list photos and the stories behind "items of interest" on websites, then provide the link to a person it might interest.....We are not claiming anything ourselves, just providing a place for consumer research.  As to contacting dealers directly, only one dealer seemed responsive to my comments (empiredanny), not sure if it helps much with most sellers though. I think the only seller it really makes a difference with is one that is honest. Someone who has been deceived themselves and strives to make a change to the inventory they carry or at least change how they may make the listing. It's easy to talk a lot about not knowing their items are fakes, but how they change their selling practices is the true test of honesty.  And that is something time will tell.

Yes I have been helped in the past and continue to help others as
time allows. The only problem in doing it is ebay can ban you. Other
problems are that the sellers of these items can just ignore your
polite emails notifying them their items are fakes and end up on the
black list!

saved me from a purchase awhile back, and that's why I joined the

people from bad purchases the same way!! I say as a group we should
definitely keep it up!!....Pete
