Quite apart from it appearing in the Sadigh stock (which in itself is of course condemnation enough) and the improbable combination of a menorah and seven nozzles on a lamp of this 1st/2nd-century type, this item is only a pale imitation of the Egyptian box lamps it is attempting to copy. The proportions are wrong, the form of the nozzles is wrong, the crude decoration is wrong and the sandy "patina" is typical of these Middle Eastern fakes (probably from Syria) and is an immediate giveaway.
Glad to hear you've got a loan copy of BMC III - an excellent reference work. Focus your attention on the authentic lamps at the beginning rather than the fake ones at the end and you will find that many of the latter become more readily apparent.
