[Ancientartifacts] malter galleries auction

Hi all.
Has anyone seen the 2 "Cycladic" figurines featured in Malter
galleries latest antiquities auction?
Wow! is all I can say. What incredibly obvious fakes.!
To begin:The head is shapeless and drilled for eyes;(the catalogue
says that it may be a later addition).
Both are made of limestone,.I have never seen a Cycladic figure in
limestone.(If they exist somewhere, they would have to be local
immitations of the Cycladic style;like the Cretan bone "Cycladic "
figures.
On both the arms are one mass with no cannonical(or pre-cannonocal)
placement of the arms(left above right).
The second one has a bizzare rear, reminiscent of a neolithic
figurine.
Cycladic figures of this period do not have steatopygous buttocks.
She also seems to be standing on her feet.
Genuine figures have (mostly) pointed downward feet, as they were
meant to be lying on their backs. Not stand.
Did I miss anything?
Feel free to add.
Take care

Spiro
