I  did  say 'probably'.  There is no absolute guarantee of  authenticity  no matter  who you buy from, or where.  Someone once commented that you could only be certain that an item  was genuine if you saw it come out of the ground yourself -  to which  I replied that not even this was true, as Piltdown Man proved!

That is dangerously broad advice to give the new collectors that come
here for advice. Trocadero is full of fakes in every category. Just
go search for "Roman brooch" and see what you get. Or "Roman glass."
It is always the dealer and only the dealer that matters; never the
site. Every site depends on fees or commissions and will go for the
income everytime. (vcoins is a rare exception but there are problems
even there.)

New collectors need to research the material and the dealers and not
depend on a site owner to protect their investment.
