In my opinion, this is clearly NOT pre-Columbian for several
reasons; to begin, the horizontal ridges reveal that this vessel was
turned on a wheel, a process unknown in pre-Hispanic America.
Second, the vertical handle is disproportionately large, thick,
ungainly and aesthetically unrelated to the overall form; an
amateurish effort.
Finally, the spout -- of distinctly Old World design -- is very
clumsily attached to the vessel shoulder. Ergo, at best, the subject
vessel MAY be a mediocre example of poorly-interpreted post-Conquest
ceramic production.
