[Ancientartifacts] Re: Are you reading this Tim?? - Another Retort

Bob:

I have never said that the topics being discussed should be stopped,
just that the personal attacks and flaming need to be kept at bay.

There is nothing wrong with discussing provenance, looting,
questionable artifacts or any of the "hot" topics in my personal
opinion as long as everyone remains somewhat civil. Thus my
comparison to the Jerry Springer show. Things have sunken to the
level of name calling and childish taunts.

I dont mind a heated debate as long as I dont feel as if I
am "hearing" an argument in a Junior High School cafeteria. (Yer
momma! No YOUR momma! NO YOUR MOMMA! followed by swearing and
progressively worse name calling) At least in a Junior High School
lunch room a moderator or teacher eventually steps in and sends the
kids back to their corners or if they get really bad to the principle
(or vice principle's) office.
